Advanced Technology Supply, Inc. was founded in November 1983 by Bill Ryan. The company's business plan was centered around a niche sales approach targeting the aircraft, aerospace, and defense markets, with a specific focus on the Space Shuttle Program at Kennedy Space Center. However, the Challenger explosion in January 1986 drastically impacted this plan, forcing Ryan to redefine the company's goals and explore new markets.
By 1989, Advanced Technology Supply, Inc. had established itself in markets for high-performance pressure-sensitive tapes and silicone elastomers used in printed circuit bare board fabrication, PCB assembly, defense-related applications in airframe and avionics, as well as electrical/electronics and general industrial applications.
That same year marked the return to flight of the space shuttle, a significant milestone.
In August 1993, Gary A. Couture joined Ryan as Vice President. Both had 20 years of experience each with CHR Industries (now known as Saint Gobain Performance Plastics), a manufacturer of pressure-sensitive tapes, silicone rubber sponge, sheet, and coated fabrics. Both Ryan and Couture had served as regional sales managers for CHR, and Couture also held the position of marketing manager.
In 2009, following the untimely death of Bill Ryan, Gary Couture became the sole owner of Advanced Technology Supply, Inc., committed to continuing the work and achieving the goals set for the future of the company. Advanced Technology Supply, Inc. has demonstrated solid growth and developed an excellent reputation for technical expertise and competitive pricing and quick delivery while continuing its standard of high quality.
